Own piece of american history with this vintage ‘King of the Wild West Trophy Bottle’ Decanter produced by Regal China in 1971 for 100-month old Beam bourbon whiskey, to pay homage to the 125th anniversary of the legendary William Frederick “Buffalo Bill” Cody’s birth – Given to Cody living descendants present at the August 11-14, 1971 celebration at Cody’s boyhood in Leavenworth, Kansas.

Buffalo Bill was an American soldier, bison hunter, and showman. At the age of 15, after his father’s death, he became a rider for the Pony Express. During the American Civil War, he served the Union from 1863 to the end of the war in 1865. Later he served as a civilian scout for the US Army during the Indian Wars, receiving the Medal of Honor in 1872.

One of the most famous and well-known figures of the American Old West, Buffalo Bill’s legend began to spread when he was only 23. Shortly thereafter he started performing in shows that displayed cowboy themes and episodes from the frontier and Indian Wars. He founded Buffalo Bill’s Wild West in 1883, taking his large company on tours in the United States, and Great Britain and continental Europe in 1887.

This Decanter is elaborately decorated and gilded in 24k Gold on both sides – And is topped by an iconic Buffalo stopper as per his nickname – Given after the American Civil War in 1867 – When he had supplied the Kansas Pacific Railroad workers with buffalo (American bison) meat. Cody is purported to have hunted 4,282 buffalo in eighteen months…!
