Pay homage to the ‘Rocket’ with this absolute masterpiece, a gallery-framed, Hand-Signed, vintage copy of the SPORT REVUE Magazine from September 1956, featuring on the cover, Maurice ‘The Rocket’ Richard and his brother Henri ‘The Pocket Rocket’ Richard, signed by hockey legend, the late Maurice Richard.
Nicknamed “The Rocket“, and known for his piercing eyes, he was the first player in NHL history to score 50 goals in one season, accomplishing the feat in 50 games in 1944–45, and the first to reach 500 career goals. Richard retired in 1960 as the league’s all-time leader in goals with 544. The Canadiens retired his number, 9, in 1960, and in 1999 donated the Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy to the NHL, awarded annually to the league’s regular season leading goal-scorer. The Hockey Hall of Fame waived its five-year waiting period for eligibility and inducted Richard into the hall in 1961. In 1975 he was inducted into Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame.
The triple matted display is mounted in a high-quality wood frame and finished with protective glass to keep it looking pristine. The customized descriptive metallic plaques, in addition to the detailed finishing and openings, add to the elegant and sophisticated gallery quality look.
