This Mephisto statue was hand-painted, and hand-sculpted with gruesomely accurate details by Andy Bergholtz in 2004. Mephisto’s base is designed to look like fiery-hot molten lava. His red cape swirls around him maliciously, and the sneer on his face makes you feel like he’s got bad things in store for you! This is the first 3D rendition of this classic Marvel villain.

Andy Bergholtz is a professional sculptor and creature designer. After only one year in art school, Bergholtz took a job as a concept designer for Trendmasters, a major toy company in the midwest, designing toys for Independence Day, The Iron Giant and Godzilla. What had begun as a self-taught hobby had quickly become an obsession, and Bergholtz eventually left his job as a designer to pursue a career in sculpting, working for such clients as McFarlane Toys, Disney, Lucasfilm, DC Comics, Marvel, Spectral Motion and many more. Andy has also served as a key artist at Sideshow Collectibles for over a decade.

This Vintage 2004 Statue is strictly limited to 3000 units world wide, long sold out. The Mephisto statue was based upon state-of-the-art three-dimensionally scans of the Marvel Studio Archives, combined with high end sculpting and painting, to develop the impeccable detail that this statue features.
